To greatly improve my interpersonal skills I attented a trip to Thorney Island. This action packed and problem solving exercise allowed me to develop my teamwork and cooperative skills. All of the tasks presented had an immeditate problem that needed solving which created tension and frustration within the group mentality.
Leadership started to bloom within certain elements i.e strength or speed and others in other ways such as problem solving in which I found myself at my greatest. We had to stay positive and keep working our hardest for the team to achieve our potential. We had to actively listen to eachother so that we could collaborate our efforts to create a Teepee above a blackbox to lift it out of a canyon.
We all had to show good manners and be polite to the soldiers as if we didn't give respect we wouldn't get it back. I attempted to take a leading role by questioning all of our team members on they're opinion to solve the problem and it proves to be an effective method of gathering a rough idea of what needed to be done. I also attempted to boost the group morale by encouraging each member.
